Bilstein 101/04 - Bilstein shock absorbers for German touring car championship (DTM) Season 2004

The thoroughgoing enhancement of last year's model has been optimized with emphasis on response behaviour, handling and weight. For the first time a system with independent adjustment on the compression and rebound stroke and a piston rod with only 11mm diameter are applied. Because of these and other features it was possible to cut heaviness under 600g. In fight for all-dominant hundredth and tenth of a second the race drivers of HWA Mercedes rely on an integrative blow-off system, which allows driving aggressively over curbs.

Bilstein B16 PSS9 / 2-ways / 3-ways - Bilstein shock absorbers for long-range races, club sports and private drivers

The motor sports' request for a suspension system that allows finding an optimal setting for racetracks with varying demands prompted Bilstein already 30 years ago to develop coil-over suspension systems. With the B14 PSS and the B16 PSS9 Bilstein's engineers created a new performance standard. The Upside-Down design - based on the mono-tube gas pressure technology - are applied in countless motor sports application areas (e.g. 24 hours of Nurburgring or the BF-Goodrich touring car series). The vehicle's height can be varied (at a lowering of 50 mm) by approx. 20 mm. In addition, with a thumb wheel on each shock absorber it is also possible to set nine different compression and rebound characteristics parallel in the built-in state (only B16 PSS9). With the combination of height and parallel damping force adjustment each driver finds his perfect setting for all situations. Alternative to the parallel adjustment of compression and rebound level it is also possible to deliver these systems with 2- or 3-ways technology.
