Tracker
Network were one of the first pioneering companies in stolen vehicle
tracking devices. Estabilished in 1993, Tracker Network still remain
at the forefront of stolen vehicle recovery having helped the UK’s
police forces to recover over £200 million worth of vehicles.
All Tracker stolen vehicle tracking system’s meet and exceed the standards
required by Thatcham, the industry’s official body for approving security
products, obtaining the Category Q insurance approval.
Tracker stolen vehicle recovery systems work like an electronic homing device.
A covert transmitter is hidden in one of several places in the vehicle. There
are no visible aerials or identifying features, thereby preventing a thief
from knowing any system is installed .By installing a Tracker system in the
vehicle, it not only provides piece of mind, but could in fact pay for itself
as many leading insurers offer favourable discounts.
Tracker offer 3 main systems:
Monitor
Horizon
and Response.
Tracker Monitor : In the event of a theft, the movement sensor hidden in the
vehicle will send a silent signal to Tracker HQ. Tracker HQ will contact the
owner to confirm the theft and then activate the unit. Once activated, any
of the UK’s 52 police forces in the vicinity of the vehicle are able
to locate it by means of Tracker’s revolutionary VHF land based radio
technology. By using this VHF radio locating system, the vehicle can be tracked
even if undercover – in a garage or trailer. Once recovered the vehicle
can be delivered to any destination in the UK.
Tracker Horizon operates in a similar method as the Monitor unit but has one
important difference - GPS. By combining GPS technology with their existing
VHF system, Tracker HQ can track the vehicle on a computerised map whilst still
enabling the police to locate the vehicle even if parked undercover.
Tracker Response is the latest and highest level of stolen vehicle recovery
currently offered by Tracker using GPS, GSM and VHF technology. Statistics
show that the majority of vehicle theft occurs using the vehicle’s keys.
In doing so all factory security systems are bypassed along with the motion
sensor featured on the Monitor and Horizon units. To combat this, Tracker Response
includes a driver validation system. If this identity card is not detected
in the vehicle, an alert will be sent to Tracker HQ. In addition Tracker offer
an interactive website where the customer can check which routes the vehicle
has travelled over the last 6 months and also set personal alerts for vehicle
movement.
All Tracker stolen vehicle recovery systems provide
tracking throughout the UK as well as France and Spain.
